April 5, 2011

After so long of not keeping up with my blogging was able to be re-inspired by my beautiful bride Danielle this past week. Her love story was adorable.... she met her fiance on an 8 day tour of Egypt and on day 8 they knew it was love and said those first 3 words to one another. As a way to personalize their wedding, their tables were named day 1-day 8 to symbolize those 8 days they had together when they first met. Their wedding was also the anniversary of day 8, three years later. They now live happily in Australia, where he is from. Danielle requested simple makeup so she still felt like herself, not overly made up and her natural beauty radiated. Hope your day was wonderful and cant wait for photos Danielle! Thank you for sharing such a romantic love story!

Forgot to blog last few weddings but I am getting back on track. Worked with Jessica at the 4 seasons yesterday on some cute young girls we did up all fresh and pretty. They literally glowed!

Today I am off to the beautiful Ihilani's special day and so excited I get to work in Kula, what a treat! We did her trial a few days ago and her beautiful mixed Hawaiian features were a perfect palette. Although she rarely ever wears makeup we were able to find the perfect balance to accentuate her natural beauty and turn her into the loveliest of brides...as always, hope she sends me a photo.

Back to reality after a wonderful few days in Hana and celebrating 4th of July at the Makawao parade and Rodeo....

Had the pleasure of meeting Cynthia and Michael over the last few days...we did a trial at Dans Salon Tuesday and decided to change things up a bit for her Wednesday Sunset Wedding. She decided she wanted a more dramatic smokey eye to go with her fancy dress and hairdo by Dan and she looked fabulous in it!

She was also able to talk her husband Michael into my makeup chair where we evened out his skin and made him picture perfect. They had me laughing and smiling the whole time and I wish them all the best!

Please send me pictures of the lava field photo shoot! Can't wait! :)

Back to the Grand Wailea for Marys real wedding day. She was relaxed and enjoying her family while I followed the plan we made for her the day before. It came out perfect and she felt pretty, success!

Then to Dans salon for a last minute booking. She had beautiful skin to begin with so instead of covering it all up, I illuminated her cheeks and did up her eyes with some natural looking false lashes. She was happy and looked adorable....

It was raining in Kihei! I told the brides it was a blessing, hope they stayed dry and had beautiful weddings!

Done with June weddings and now I get to celebrate my daughters birthday and go camping...yay! More next month...

Today started out at 10 am at the Grand Wailea, working on a balcony overlooking the ocean and beautiful Japanese gardens. I was doing a trail run for the beautiful bride Mary who we figured out the perfect look for, can't wait for her wedding tomorrow. So glad I was able to win her confidence and make her look amazing!

Later in the afternoon was todays bride Amanda. I was able to convince her to lose her normal black eyeliner and gave her a softer look with just a bit of a dramatic eye. She looked beautiful and her family was so nice and accommodating! They were a pleasure to the end of my bit of a hectic day.

Will post photos soon!

My morning started out bright and early with a photo shoot and the beautiful Haiku Mill working with photographer Anna Kim, stylist Michelle and Dan Sanchez doing hair. Our models were a Maui couple beautiful and in love and a pleasure to meet and watch, such chemistry! I gave her a beautiful sun kissed glow that went along perfectly with the lose romantic style from Dan. We are hoping to make the cover of Southern Wedding Magazine. Good Luck Anna!

After a quick lunch, off to Dans Salon in Kihei to meet todays bride, a local Maui Girl who turned out stunning!

Cant wait to get and post photos! Great creative day with lots of beautiful people to make my job easy!
